I first started to play
darts when I was 15 yrs old and played in a team run by the army when they
had barracks in Sheerness, we played from The Sun Inn.
I have never won the
Island singles competitions but have managed runner up several times.
However, I did win the all winners competition at Pontins and several other smaller competitions around and about.
Most of the pubs I
played for have now closed, (an omen perhaps)! Pubs like 'The
Admirals Walk' and 'The Hero' of Crimea. I now play for and
Captain 'The Nore' as well as being captain of Sheppey Super League Team.

Now in my sixties, I do not play as
often, giving the younger players a chance to shine,
with a bit of encouragement. Much of my time is spent organising competitions and
exhibitions - which I thoroughly enjoy.
My aim for the future is to promote
darts on Sheppey to a high level.
When people started to play pool, darts suffered a
lot. However, on Sheppey we are in the throws of a revival and
the leagues are getting stronger. More youngsters are taking up the
game and are enthusiastic.
My favourite player has always been John Lowe, he is a gentleman and a
great ambassador for darts although having met Eric Bristow several times,
he is a close second.
I
cannot run this page without your help so all league secretaries and
players keep me informed on results and games played well, this web page
is for you and to make it a success I need your input.
To help with the cost of running and setting it up we will be
taking advertising and if any player would like their photograph and dart
profile listed please contact me. There will also be links to and from other dart web sites to
keep you informed on what is going on, not only in England but around the
world.
